The Story:
The vibrant colors and subject of this piece capture the freedom-filled state in which it was created. I would be lying if I told you an elaborate story about how this artwork came to be, but I think the simplicity of the story holds its own beauty.
One night, I sat at the table with a friend, and we talked for hours while I drew this piece from start to finish. I lost track of time, immersed in a state of play and rediscovering my love for creating simple art apart from the pressure of making a "masterpiece." Yet, in that childlike state of mind, it became one of my favorite pieces I've ever created as an artist.
There's a power in creating from a place of play—free to create, unafraid of new ideas, unafraid of "mistakes," and willing to take risks throughout the process.
